• Replacing PVCU door locking mechanisms when your multipoint locking
  mechanism has failed or is faulty.

If your PVCU door multi point locking system is difficult to open or close, or if it has failed/jammed in the locked position we can help. We carry on board all are vans a large selection of the most common PVCU multi point locks, lock cases, handles and replacement cylinders.

• Replacing locks and cylinders when you want your locks working off a
  new key or your lock is faulty.

A common fault with a uPVC lock is the cylinder clutch slipping and therefore not allowing the key to be removed unless the lock is unlocked. The cylinder can be re-set but it is not recommended.

PVCU door cylinders can be hard to replace as they come in various sizes and finishes.

If your cylinder protrudes from your handles more than 8mm it could be attacked resulting in the door being opened in seconds.

We carry virtually all sizes and finishes of both standard and high security registered cylinders on our vans, so we can replace your lock on our first visit.

• Fitting higher security cylinders with a registered security key, these cylinders are also harder to drill open, pick open & bump open.

Not only are our high security cylinders harder to drill open, pick open and bump open than standard cylinders, they also come with a registered key system, this gives you control of who can get extra keys cut eliminating the threat of your cleaner, nanny, lodger, tenant, builder etc getting a key without your knowledge.

Checking The Operation Of Your PVCU Door

With the door open lock your door as if it was in the closed position. If it works smoothly when the door is open but when you shut the door it feels stiff lifting the handles or turning the key or will not lock, then you need to get the door looked at as soon as possible failure to get this looked at will result in the lock jamming in the locked position.

If your PVCU door or window lock isn’t working smoothly it may result in the lock failing in the locked position with the door shut.

uPVC lock handles come in various sizes styles and operations.

So the lock system determines the handle type.

Because of the construction of PVCU doors and windows it is very difficult to install any additional locks or secondary security.

Multipoint Locking Operations

L/L – Lever Operated

To Lock
Lift lever to engage locking points, then one full turn of the cylinder to lock.

To Open
One full turn of the cylinder then push down on the lever to release

T/F – Twin Follower

To Lock
Lift lever to engage locking points, then one full turn of the cylinder to lock

To Open From Inside
One full turn of the cylinder then push down on the lever to release.

To Open From Outside
One full turn of the cylinder, then push down on the lever to retract locking points, followed by a further turn of the cylinder to retract the latch.

S/F – Split Follower

To Lock
Lift lever to engage locking points, then one full turn of the cylinder to lock

To Open From Inside
One full turn of the cylinder then push down on the lever to release.

To Open From Outside
One full turn of the cylinder, then push down on the lever to retract locking points, followed by a further turn of the cylinder to retract the latch.

F/L – Fast Lock

To Lock
Lift lever to engage locking points & fully deadlock in one motion.

To Open From Inside
One full turn of the cylinder then push down on the lever to release.

To Open From Outside
One full turn of the cylinder, then push down on the lever to retract locking points, followed by a further turn of the cylinder to retract the latch.

K – Key Operated

To Lock
Turn the cylinder two or more full turns to engage the locking points and fully deadlock.

To Open
Turn the cylinder two or kore turns to release the locking points, followed by a further turn of the cylinder to retract the latch.

A – Automatic

To Lock
Close the door, the locking points will automatically engage. The deadbolt can be thrown with the cylinder.

To Open From Inside
One full turn of the cylinder (if engaged) then push down on the lever to release.

To Open From Outside
One turn of the cylinder will release all of the locking points and retract the latch.
